Brief History of Mizoram House, Shillong

Mizoram House, Shillong is one among the several Circuit Houses cum Liaison Office set up by the Government of Mizoram under the General Administrative Department (GAD). Mizoram House, Shillong was established in  the year   December, 1980.  The establishment initially functioned in a rented property at Cleve Colony, which is situated in the heart of the city. The property was then purchased in the year August,2002. Since then 3(three) two storied RCC buildings has been constructed, which houses the Guest House, Staff quarters and dormitories (not yet functional).

The Liaison Officer (the nomenclature was re-designated as Deputy Resident Commissioner w.e.f 20.7.2012)is the Head of Office  and the DDO of the establishment. The Head of Office is assisted by the Deputy Liaison Officer ( whose nomenclature was re-designated as Assistant Resident Commissioner w.e.f 20.7.2012). Since its inception till date the establishment have been manned by 13 Liaison Officers and 5 Deputy Resident Commissioner as follows.
