The House provides transit accommodation, protocol and logistics support to touring VIPs and Officials. Transit accommodation is also provided to non-officials, medical patients, sports/cultural contingent and students subject to availability of rooms. The House also functions as a channel of communication between Government of Mizoram and other states and central Government’s establishments in west Bengal. The Joint Resident Commissioner, as head of the establishment represents Government of Mizoram in matters concerning the affairs of the state, he also acts as guardian of Mizo Community in West Bengal.
